Third Annual Thankful Healthy Blogger Virtual 5K #THB5K *GIVEAWAY*

image
It’s time to announce the Third Annual Thankful Healthy Blogger 5k! I can hardly believe that we’re coming around to the third year of this annual event. Where has the time gone?
If you have participated in this for all three years, CONGRATULATIONS! This means you have made it through THREE YEARS of being focused on health. That’s an accomplishment to say the least.
And for those of you who are new to the Thankful Healthy Blogger 5k (THB5K), WELCOME! We’re glad to have you here!
Here’s a run down of what the THB5k is about:
The THB5K is an opportunity for us to get active on Thanksgiving. In the past, Thanksgiving has been an opportunity for me, and probably many of you, to eat too much and sit around. This is something that I have worked hard to change in the last few years. While it’s ok to enjoy those delicious foods in moderation, maybe even altering the recipes to make them healthier, it’s also important to be active. And what better day to be active than when you can recruit your family members to be active along with you. The more the merrier and fun!
This is also a way to say thanks to my wonderful readers and supporters. Each year, I sponsor a giveaway prize full of lots of goodies that will help you along your health journey. You are all a HUGE part of my success thus far and I want to say THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart. Your comments cheer me on and let me know that I’m not alone in this struggle. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
But guess what’s new this year? I am so excited to announce that s few wonderful sponsors donated prizes to give away! So this year, we have more prizes than ever and more chances to win! And these are GREAT prizes! I want to say thank you to each of the sponsors, I truly appreciate all that you have done to make this event the best yet!
Before we get into the rules, I’m going to show you what you have an opportunity to win, just by participating!
Prize #1- Sponsored by Zippearz, Nouveau Earbuds
image
111 013
You have probably heard me rave about Zippearz before. I am jealous that one of you will get to try out these Noveau earbuds! I don’t have those ones! I won’t run without my Zippearz sport earbuds. I’ve bought other pairs for gifts for family members. Absolutely nothing compares. They stay in my ears and have incredible sound. I also love my Zippearz iFit hoodie which has a convenient zipper in the front with a hidden pocket to pull the earbuds under the hoodie. Not to mention, they have fabulous customer service.
Prize #2- Sponsored by Zippearz, ZPro Arm Band and Mouse Pad
111 012
The "Z" patched on the right side of the arm band allows you to gather your excess earbud wire and presume your work-out activity without disturbance. On the back of the cellphone pocket includes an additional "key pocket" for holding a house, car or locker key while you work out. The band is made with perforated holes which allow good material breathing.
The ZPro can be used with iPhone, iPod, Droids and most brands of Smart Phones. There is cord jack hole on both the RIGHT and LEFT side to accommodate for most any device.
Prize #3: ALSO sponsored by Zippearz, Zwaist away waistband
111 011
The ZWaist Away is a high-quality neoprene waist band that provides a perfect solution to increase work-out intensity and comfort. It is very helpful in allowing core muscles to get warm and loosen. Also serves as excellent back support for those who suffer with back pains.
The best part about the ZWaist Away is the convenient built-in pocket for an iPod and/or cellular device. This handy compartment is made with a clear vinyl allowing visible access to songs, calls, etc.

There are quite a few things in here, so here are a couple of close ups:
111 026
111 028
Here’s a list of what’s included: Blue Diamond almonds, Adidas hat, Embark water bottle, Jillian Michaels Extreme Shed & Shred DVD, Weekly Planner (perfect for planning meals!), pink journal, a bath poof, fun socks, two Larabars, two Stretch Island Fruit Co. snacks, KIND granola, Starbucks Thanksgiving Blend Coffee, Starbucks $5 gift card, two packs of Justin’s nut butter, Twinings Chai tea, Bob’s Red Mill Steel Cut Oats and flaxseed meal. I believe that’s all!
Look at all 9 of those wonderful prizes! Who’s in?!
Here are the rules:
  1. REQUIRED: Run or walk (or elliptical, whatever you wish!) a 5k on Thanksgiving Day. If you have an organized 5k race planned that day, that’s fine- you can double dip by participating in this one too. Run the organized 5K, and it counts as your THB5K participation.
  2. REQUIRED: Send me a photo showing that you participated. If you don’t want to show your face, take a picture of your running shoes or something- use your creativity. Also, send me your time. This is not a race in the traditional sense, it’s just about getting out there and getting active, but it would be fun to show times at the end, too. We’re all winners for participating and everyone has an equal chance at winning the giveaways. Wouldn’t it be awesome to break your personal PR? Feel free to email me any accomplishments, such as the aforementioned! Email this to AJourney2Thin@gmail.com. Please send me this information by 6 PM CST on Saturday November 24th to qualify! Giveaway will end at that time.
  3. The more people you get to participate with you, the more entries you will get. You will get one Giveaway entry per person that participates with you. You must send me a picture showing you and your participants. Get the family involved!
  4. Have fun!!
Want extra entries into the giveaway?
You can receive MULTIPLE entries into this giveaway, depending on how involved you want to be! You must actually participate in the 5k for any of your entries to count.
  1. Leave a comment on this post telling me you are planning to participate.
  2. Mention in a blog post that you will be participating while linking back to this post.
  3. Like any of the sponsors on Facebook, including me! Leave a separate comment for each one.
  4. Follow any of the sponsors on Twitter, including me! Leave a separate comment for each one.
  5. Facebook or Tweet about the 5k mentioning @AJourneyToThin and hashtag #THB5K. Feel free to mention any of the sponsors also!
  6. Pin the THB5K button to Pinterest.
  7. Feature the THB5K button on your blog with a link back to this post.
In 2010, we had 25 participants. In 2011, we had 53 participants. My goal is to reach 100 participants this year!! Think we can do it?! Help spread the word!
How about a flash back?

If you have a preference to which giveaway prize you win…let me know in the comments by referencing the prize number! I can’t guarantee you will get your first choice, it will be first come first serve when I choose winners via random.org. If there’s something that you absolutely don’t want, let me know that too and I will skip that for you. Good luck!
For anyone outside of the U.S. that doesn’t celebrate the U.S. Thanksgiving holiday, you are welcome to participate but you will only qualify to win the prizes 1,2, and 6. I’m sorry, but shipping outside the U.S. will get too expensive and I am shipping out all of these prizes. Best of luck!

  1. On Thanksgiving I always walk 5 miles. If it would be above 50 degrees I will be cycling. I'm not sure if that meets your requirements or not.
